Jean Menard is one of the few authentic barbers left in kelowna who underwent ten months training at a government-certified barber school and one-year apprenticeship under a highly qualified mentor, achieving a journeyman certification.

Hair and skin have a natural acidic pH of 5.5 to 6.5. An acidic pH balance protects your body from infection.
Many hair products have an alkaline pH. Alkaline products, such as shampoos and conditioners, can damage your hair’s natural acidic balance. To ensure your shampoo has an acidic pH, test a sample using litmus paper.
Lower quality conditioners are composed largely of wax, water, colorants, stabilizers and perfumes.
Better conditioners have a non-wax base that hair will absorb. For best results and maximum penetration, towel-dry hair before applying moisturizer or conditioner since water logged hair is not absorbent. Then, use the recommended amount of conditioner and leave on 3–5 minutes before rinsing.
About Jean Menard
With over 50 years experience in Kelowna, Jean is one of the longest standing Barbers in the area. Upon completing his barber training at the Vancouver Moler School of Barbering in 1971, Jean apprenticed with Mario Puppato at Capri Barbers before finishing at The Spaniard Orchard Park (now Bogie & Bacall).
Through his time in Kelowna Jean has owned “Le Frog Hair Styling” hence the carving in the shop) after which he purchased “Image Hair Design”. In 2001 Jean relocated his shop to the Landmark Towers prompting a name change to Landmark Hair.
Jean, and his wife Lynn of over 30 years, have 4 girls and 2 boys in Kelowna.
